Today we’re talking about how lucky we are that our guys love to fish.

Please ladies, let your men fish.

O.K., it’s time to secretly admit something to ourselves. We can be a complete pain in the tail-fin sometimes. We’re so busy getting dinner together, working, managing kids, trying to get to the grocery on a semi regular basis. It’s like herding cats 24/7 and we get cranky and unreasonable. You don’t need to publicly agree with me in the comment section but play along for a minute.

Mr. PondLife would never admit this to his tackle box totin’ crew, but fishing is like therapy and church for him. When the going gets rough, he goes fishing. When our conversations get a little louder than they should and loading the dishwasher is more like throwing the shot put, I don’t get freaked out when I hear the back door close. I know it’s not likely to be the starting of the car I hear next, it’s probably the jingly sound of the tackle box and pole being carted to the dock. That’s good for all of us.

A few years ago Mr. PondLife was hit with some pretty heavy stuff. He was down and frustrated. He came home and said, “What do I do?” Honestly, I didn’t know the answer to his struggles so I said, “If I were you, I’d go fishing.” And fish he did. Until he could sort out the knot in his head and in his heart.

So ladies, let’s remember, loving a pond loving man has it’s perks. So maybe you secretly stock up on some bait in that garage fridge and smile to yourself when he heads to the jonboat knowing that he’s rejuvenating his mind and spirit.

If you’re reading this with longing because you don’t yet have your own pond or lake, well, hit the contact form, we can help with that!
